February 26, 2004Private School Alum's PassionI saw Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ last evening. Honestly, I have never been as transfixed by a movie as I was by Passion. The juxtaposition of unbelievable violence with the gentle teachings of Jesus made for some very compelling moments. It was a bit strange being in a packed theatre where the only sounds you heard from the audience were gasps. People left the theatre in silence. None of the usual bantering. We talked about the movie for several hours after the show. One of my 'non-religious' friends even announced that he now had a reason to read the Bible. He simply had to learn more about this Jesus man. BTW, Mel Gibson went to St. Leo's College in Sydney, Australia. Don't miss this movie. |
