
Twenty-three elite private schools from around the globe, including the Dalton School in New York City, Albuquerque Academy, and the American School in Japan, have launched an organization called Global Online Academy to offer full-credit online courses to member students. The classes, taught by faculty at member schools, are part of the first major online venture by traditional private schools, and they aim to preserve the small class sizes and collaboration typical of private schools while encouraging cross-cultural discussions about topics such as global terrorism, Hispanic communities, and other subjects.
