Schools Offer Places For Students

Saturday September 3, 2005
The NAIS (National Association Of Independent Schools) is doing a terrific job of getting the word out about schools which have places for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. If your school can help, let the NAIS know. Go to its Web site and get the details there. Thank you, Pat Bassett, for spearheading this badly-needed effort.

You and I need to help Katrina's victims immediately in two ways:

* Donate cash to the Red Cross and/or the Salvation Army. Cash will pay for water, food and emergency supplies.
* Encourage your school to offer places to displaced students. Children need to be in school and in a 'normal' daily routine so that they can recover from the disaster as quickly as possible.
