There are plenty of private schools in the major metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Washington-DC. You will have no problem finding a school to meet your needs whether it is a boarding school, day school or a school for special needs. Places in some schools are highly competitive. Don't let this discourage you. Getting the fit right is the most important part of choosing a private school, not how competitive the school is.
Philadelphia
The metropolitan Philadelphia area affords parents an incredibly wide choice of private schools. Schools run the gamut from venerable institutions such as Girard College which is actually a tuition free boarding school for grades 1 through 12 to a plethora of Quaker schools such as Germantown Friends, Friends Central and Friends' Select. The depth and breadth of Philadelphia's private school offerings is on a par with Boston or New York. Don't delay beginning the search process, however, as places at many schools are limited.
San Francisco

Seattle
