Marguerite Gilmore was the widow of Bryant Gilmore, Princeton '17. She loved to entertain us when our children were small, probably because they reminded her of her own two girls who were long gone from the nest. Her 'cocktail hour' consisted of a well made martini or Manhattan accompanied by the simplest of appetizers. This is one which I still use to this day. It's elegant, simple and the perfect accompaniment for drinks of virtually any kind.
