Military Values with Academics and Athletics

Many of our finest and most brilliant military leaders have gotten their start at one of these institutions. At a minimum their graduates come away from the experience with an understanding of personal and team discipline which serves them well throughout their adult lives. Military schools have moved with the times. Exciting new technology programs and the strengthening of traditional curricula place most military schools in the vanguard of education these days.

  • Comments: Situated in the prosperous Guaynabo area of San Juan, American Military Academy serves the community with a comprehensive academic program. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association. In addition the Academy offers Junior ROTC.

  • Comments: Admiral Farragut Academy is the only military school offering a Naval JROTC program. It also has an Aviation Academy, a Marine Science Academy and a Golf Academy in addition to its comprehensive academic and athletic offerings. The Academy is named after the first admiral of the United States Navy.

  • Comments: Founded in 1910 Army and Navy Academy is California's only military boarding school. It also has the unusual distinction of being able to nominate three candidates annually for the military academies such as West Point and Annapolis. The Academy offers a comprehensive academic program as well as strong sports offerings including hockey.

  • Comments: Founded in 1911 Benedictine High School combines the solid academics of a Benedictine education with JROTC cadet training. BHS partners with a girls' school, St. Gertrude's High School, for important social and other occasions.

  • Comments: Founded in 1842 Carson Long Military Institute is the oldest military boarding school in the United States. Tuition for boarding students is less than $20,000 making it a very reasonably priced residential school. The school offers college preparatory programs as well as JROTC.

  • Comments: The school was founded in 1879. The day school is open to boys and girls. The boarding division is only for boys. This is a church school in which Christian values are woven throughout the academic and leadership training programs.

    Eagle Military Academy, North Charleston, SC

    "Eagle Military Academy was founded by Colonel Nathaniel R. Green, Commandant of Cadets, in 2002. The Academy began with eight students and it has since grown to 115 students. Colonel Green, and his wife Mildred, are dedicated to building an academy of young men with academic excellence and the character qualities of discipline, wisdom, integrity and honor."
