University of Chicago Laboratory Schools was founded in 1896 by Professor John Dewey. For many years the school was funded and governed by the university. Commentary:
This is a great, big city school. Being the creation of the University of Chicago it has historically enjoyed the best minds and guidance from that esteemed institution. As a result University of Chicago Laboratory Schools champions diversity, seeks and attains the highest academic standards and somehow manages to combine all of those ideals with a supportive, caring atmosphere which nurtures the whole child. If you live and work in Chicago and don't need a religious school for your child, UCLS should be high on your list of school choices.
