Question: Which is the Oldest Private School?
Answer: The oldest private school in the United States is Collegiate School founded in 1628 according to research done by one of its faculty members, Massimo Maglione. The Reformed Protestant Dutch Church established the school for children of Dutch colonists. It originally was situated at the bottom or south end of Manhattan. Since 1892 the school has been housed in quarters on the Upper West Side. The school is now a non-denominational boys school offering grades K-12 with a student body of approximately 625.
