Newsletter
An article in the New York Times recently reminded me how very new this WWW is. The piece concerned a doctor who made housecalls via e-mail! The emphasis was on how e-mail allows the intimacy and nuance of a phone call combined with the permanence of a letter. Honestly! How did you and I ever get along without e-mail?!? I am interested in hearing from you about your experiences with e-mail and the Web.
  • How has it affected you in your daily routine?
  • Do you use it just for business or pleasure?
Drop me a line and let me know. I will publish the results of this little survey in my newest Mining Company offering: The Private School Newsletter! You can subscribe by filling out a short subscription form. Look for the first issue on December 5!
ISED-L Update
A couple of weeks ago I wrote about mailing lists and mentioned ISED-L. This is the list for independent school educators. It currently has about seven hundred subscribers who discuss a variety of issues concerning private schools. Topics of late have included:

The discussion is stimulating and informative. Whether you are a teacher or an administrator, you will find ISED-L worthwhile. Why not join and keep up with what's going on? The subscription process is easy! Send the message "sub ISED-L your name" to  listserv@listserv.syr.edu

Jobs
As the first term winds down, exams loom just over the horizon, and holiday concerts are in full rehearsal, administrators and teachers begin to think about next year and job vacancies. If you are contemplating a move, now is the time to start scanning the job resources regularly. If you want to attract new personnel, consider placing a notice on one of the services. Of course, you may post it here on this site free of charge. Just send me the ad copy!
