Spotlight on Schools
Most private schools could not exist without the generous support of alumni, parents and friends. Occasionally a philanthropist with extraordinary vision comes along and creates a lasting educational legacy by building a school and endowing it in perpetuity. So it is with Girard College in Philadelphia. I am grateful to William Stein, the principal, for answering a few questions about his historic institution.
