What's your take on RateMyTeachers.com?
I'll admit it. I'm slightly to the right of Atilla the Hun on this issue. Why on earth should teachers be subjected to what seems to be nothing more than a beauty contest? Who cares if their students 'like' them. A teacher's job is not to be popular but to teach. And it seems to me that RateMyTeachers.com is just one more example of American society's fascination with 'reality' shows and the like.
If a teacher is doing a good job, his peers will rate him accordingly. If he isn't, he will be given a chance to shape up or ship out. Can you imagine if we rated doctors or lawyers? Gimme a break!
Please take my poll on this issue. I'm curious to see how students, teachers and parents feel about this.
