Consolidating A School
It's a tough decision for any board of trustees. Even tougher when your school has been around for 125 years. All that history, all those memorial gifts and named buildings, staffing decisions to make and a hundred other details to consider. It's a project which must be handled with all the skill of a diplomat and the pastoral sensitivity of a counsellor. And if you don't get it right, you've set the school on a path to its ultimate demise. Kent School tackled its consolidation back in the '90's with great success. Wykeham Rise failed in the '80's.
