
Young kids are being expelled from school at epidemic rates. For example, a recent study showed that in New York, 16% of pre-school teachers had recently expelled a student, and across the country, about 10% of pre-school teachers had decided to kick out a student, according to a Yale study. The rates were highest for boys and for African-American students. The same study showed that having a behavioral consultant in the classroom can help teachers help their students to behave better--and keep the kids in school.
