The earthquake of January 12, 2010 would appear to have devastated the Haitian capital. Certainly the initial photos and stories indicate simply horrific destruction of buildings and property.
I am trying to get news about conditions in the private schools in Haiti. There are dozens of parochial and private/independent schools in Port-au-Prince. The few schools which have working websites have no news about the earthquake.
If you have news about schools in Haiti, tweet me at PRIVATESCHL or leave a comment below. I will ask some of my colleagues about setting up some kind of central point for donations both in kind and money to help schools get back on their feet. In the meantime you might want to text a donation to the Red Cross at HAITI (90999) or to your favorite relief organization.

It was a large group of kids who attended the Montessori Model United Nations. Maybe if you contact them they could give you more information about the school.
