Most schools close for the holidays sometime this week. That means travel time for your teen if she's away at boarding school. (Didn't we just do this a few weeks ago?) Take a few minutes to review these travel tips with her. She's probably got the routine finely tuned at this point but, as one parent to another, just make sure that the basics are covered. Things like making sure her cellphone works and that her debit card has enough cash are more important than whether her iTouch is charged. She won't necessarily think so, but you need to ask.
Weather makes traveling at this time of the year somewhat problematic, as yesterday's ice storms in the northeastern states remind us. Extra time and caution will be necessary.
