Michelle Obama Visits Washington Private Schools

Mrs. Obama visited two schools on my list of suggested schools, according to the Associated Press. It will be interesting to learn what the final decision is. Will it be Sidwell Friends or Georgetown Day? Stay tuned.

Did you notice that it appears that they are not looking at public schools? I am pretty sure that the reason for that is security. The Secret Service would have a tough time protecting the Obama children in a public school setting. On the other hand they can whisk the kids into a private school campus and maintain a high level of protection in that contained environment. The First Daughters' not going to public school has nothing to do with academic or philosophic considerations. Strictly safety issues which we can understand.
