Steamy Poetry Causes A Ruckus

Thursday March 13, 2008
It's a trustee's worst nightmare. Your beloved school is suddenly thrust into a media storm. Read the story about Leo Baeck Jewish Day School in the Toronto Star. "Private school director's explicit poems draw fire" is not the sort of headline you would want to see about your school. Now review your policies and procedures for dealing with these sorts of public relations emergencies. How you handle it will impact your school significantly for months, even years to come. My thoughts can be found here.

This incident also serves to remind heads and trustees to require all faculty and staff to comply with acceptable use policies when it comes to face books and online publications such as blogs and Web sites. My! Things sure have changed from Mr. Chipping's days, eh?
