Faith-based Schools

Saturday September 22, 2007
Religious schools come in almost as many flavors as Baskin-Robbins' ice cream! Jewish, Muslim, Quaker, Episcopal, Seventh Day Adventist, Roman Catholic, Lutheran and Presbyterian affiliated schools abound. Then there are the ubiquitous Christian schools. If your religion matters deeply to you and you wish to raise your children in a faith-based academic environment, then you need to explore that option seriously.

Interestingly enough, not every school which claims to be a church school requires its students and staff to adhere to its religious values. Many of these schools soft-pedal their religious teaching activities, preferring instead to be non-denominational. Others are more zealous and require parents to sign a commitment to adhere to the school's religious tenets. It's your choice.
