Schools for the Artistically Gifted

Thursday September 6, 2007
I was just reading Anthony Tommasini's appreciation of Luciano Pavarotti in the New York Times. What a great artist! So, just how does one nurture such a talent? What do we as parents do when we think our child has the potential to be the next Pavarotti or Midori? I recommend that you go for broke! Find the best teachers you can and develop the talent as best you can. After all, you are, in a sense, merely the steward of your child's talent. Stewardship implies responsible and wise use of those gifts.

There are not many arts schools in this sports crazed country of ours. Here's a list of the more established ones.
