Safe Teen Travel at the Holidays

Wednesday November 15, 2006
Thousands of young people will head for home this weekend and early next week. Teenagers think travel is a lark. No big deal! No sweat! 99% of the time that will be the case. But make sure that you discuss safe travel tips with them so that they know what to do when things go wrong.

I am a worrier when it comes to my kids travelling. I always tell the story of my 17 year old son coming home one year on what turned out to be a trip from hell. Poor dear only had to fly from Miami to Raleigh. Under normal circumstances that is an easy trip even when you have to change planes at Atlanta. Well, guess what? A freak snow storm hit Atlanta. My kid's 4 hours trip turned into a nightmarish 12 hour ordeal. Take some time to review Travel Tips for Teens with them.
