"Hello, my name is Crystal* (13yrs.) and I am a student that attends
Brightstar Community School in Newark, NJ. In my neighborhood being smart is a ticket out so, I guess I have one. My greatest fear is that I would get
accepted into a great boarding school and my single mother is not financially
able to pay for it becaue I have eight other brothers and sisters. I receive
all A''s in my classes but I feel that is not enough. May you please help me
with my situation and tell me what I should do. Thank you for taking your
time to read my letter."

Most schools offer scholarships and other forms of financial assistance. I encourage you to apply. Let the admissions people know right up front what your situation is.
Also encourage you to apply to one of the free private schools within reach of Newark: Girard College in Philadelphia.
