New Head for St. Paul's
God moves in a mysterious wayHis wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
- William Cowper (1731-1800)
Poor St. Paul's in Concord, New Hampshire, went through a rough patch last year. Financial and other scandals caused consternation and shame at that grand old Episcopal school. So it is with great joy that I can report that a new headmaster has been appointed. Much luck, Bill Matthews.
Why I am so interested in St. Paul's? Because my old friend Barclay Lex Millar (1943-1984) graduated from St. Paul's. Barclay was a prince of a man. Nancy and I adored him.
When Disaster Strikes Learn from St. Paul's experience. Never stonewall. Confront bad news head on. Be prepared for the unexpected.
