C-Span Run!
As the Internet careens through its adolescence towards maturity, I can't help but be amazed at the quality and relevance of some of the new teaching resources coming online. Take C-Span Classroom, for instance. Ten years ago they would have put up a site and let you figure out how to use it. Not any more. C-Span Classroom is an example of the 'new age' Web site which has great standards-based content. That's right, standards-based content. Now, in the private school world, standards are the foundation of what most schools do anyway. That's taken for granted. Standards are the starting point, not the end. Sites like C-Span Classroom connect your teaching with the real world. And that's a good thing. Two other sites to peruse: Google Scholar offers serious research materials. Sun Microsystems Java Teaching Innovations Portal offers a wealth of material for those of you who instruct Java courses.
Finally, take a look at my Subject Resources. These aren't lesson plans. They are carefully selected links like the ones mentioned above. Use them to enrich your lesson plans.
