How Much Is A Headmaster Paid?

Saturday October 15, 2005

Detroit Waldorf School

Two things on my mind today: headmasters' comp and Waldorf schools. A head of school is like the CEO of a business. Depending on the size of the school, the head may be in charge of more people and more assets than the CEO's of many businesses. I have always felt that heads are compensated meagrely for what they do. A headmaster has multiple roles to play and she must play them all to the hilt. Here's a sampling of what headmasters around the country made a few years ago.

Take a moment to explore Waldorf education. It's an old movement which speaks to today's students with a sensitivty and calmness which is refreshing.
